About
Rajiv Ranjan Gupta is a joint doctoral researcher in the BITS Pilani–RMIT University programme. His research spans intelligent transportation systems and V2X communication for autonomous driving, with emphasis on reliable, low-latency and secure information exchange for resource-constrained edge and ITS deployments.
Supervisors

Research Objective
This research investigates advanced V2X communication networks for intelligent transportation systems and autonomous-driving applications. It focuses on improving communication reliability, resource efficiency, security and network performance in highly dynamic vehicular environments.
The work explores less congested higher-frequency spectrum bands to address bandwidth limitations and spectrum scarcity in conventional vehicular communication systems.
Cellular V2X, Optical Camera Communication, millimetre-wave communication and hybrid RF-optical frameworks are considered to improve connectivity and support next-generation intelligent mobility solutions.

- MATLAB for communication-system modelling, algorithm development and performance evaluation.

Academic and Professional Background
Rajiv holds a Master’s degree in Design Engineering from BITS Pilani. After completing his M.Tech, he worked as an Engineer at Innominds Software Pvt. Ltd.
He later served as an Assistant Professor at BITS Pilani, teaching and mentoring in connected and autonomous vehicles, advanced driver-assistance systems, vehicular networks, automotive cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and deep learning.
He has also led industry–academia programmes involving TATA Motors, Bosch and Hyundai Mobis.
